โ–ถObjectives

The main objective of the Safe Future Safe Climate project was to facilitate the exchange of good practices among partners regarding eco projects and environmental education. Key goals included raising students' awareness about climate change to foster empathy and social consciousness, while boosting their learning motivation, academic success, and self-confidence. We aimed to integrate climate studies into the curriculum and explore best practices in renewable energy. The project encouraged innovative teaching methods and strengthened the qualifications of European teachers. We sought to promote intercultural exchange, improve the quality of educational institutions, and build social bridges through a shared European identity. By developing activities that support carbon footprint reduction and advocating for environmentally friendly transportation, we aimed to teach students about recycling and reusing waste. The project also focused on creating public awareness about climate change, encouraging students to anticipate future consequences and realize global warming's existential threat to all living things.

โ–ถActivities

The Safe Future Safe Climate project implemented diverse activities to address climate change and global warming, which are critical global issues. Our activities supported the EU's goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and achieve net zero emissions by 2050, aiming to make Europe the first climate-neutral continent. We organized educational workshops and seminars to inform students about climate change impacts, helping them understand the scientific principles and encouraging proactive efforts to combat this issue. Environmental campaigns promoted tree planting, waste reduction, and energy-saving projects. A "learning by doing" approach, particularly effective for primary school children, engaged students in hands-on activities to develop practical skills and a deeper understanding of climate issues. STEAM projects fostered creativity, communication, and critical thinking. Collaboration among partners from Turkey, Greece, Hungary, and North Macedonia enriched activities by sharing cultural perspectives and best practices. We involved parents and communities to foster social and environmental responsibility, aiming to empower students with 21st-century skills.

โ–ถImpact

The Safe Future Safe Climate project produced several concrete outputs and results, enhancing awareness and education on climate change across Europe. We prepared comprehensive educational materials, including a handbook, videos demonstrating the impact of climate change, student-related activities, lesson plans, and brochures, which can be utilized by teachers, parents, and schools throughout Europe. We organized seminars on climate change, renewable energy, and recycling, along with visits to relevant institutions, fostering direct engagement and learning. Additionally, we conducted eco-actions such as trash collection, tree planting, and recycling workshops to promote environmental responsibility. We also created a global climate change dictionary and a digital playbook to support ongoing education. The project's good practices and outcomes were shared with other schools via the eTwinning platform, promoting wider dissemination. We encouraged the use of bicycles to support sustainable transportation. All project results were made publicly available across Europe. These activities developed students' social and intercultural skills, critical thinking, and understanding of environmental issues within the EU context.
