Objectives

With this project, we want to turn the focus to pollinating insects with an interdisciplinary approach by making open educational resources (OERs) for primary schools in Norway and Sweden. The OERs will have local adaptations for both countries in relation to national environment, species composition and school curriculums. This will make the OERs available for all school teachers on a national level in both Norway and Sweden.

Activities

The main activities in the project will be the development of the open educational resources (OERs), the workshop with the teachers in Norway and Sweden and the pilot period where the OERs are tested at a collaboration school in both countries. The OERs will be based on feedback from teachers that have been participating in a workshop and how the OERs worked in practice during the pilot period.

Impact

The OER will be an easy-to-use and intuitive learning resource for teachers and will be used and implemented by schools throughout Norway and Sweden. It will be a framework for further development and content creation, as well as being a new, engaging and exciting way to work with the subject of pollinators. Schools will get a higher understanding of the importance of pollinators, both locally and globally and will get action competence to mitigateand solve problems the pollinators face locally.
