▶Objectives
By carrying out the project, we wanted to increase the knowledge of our members about dementia, increase awareness about the development of the disease, and also raise competences in the field of counteracting Alzheimer's disease and senile dementia, both among UTW members and the entire local senior community. The aim was also to gain knowledge to expand our offer of classes (creating teaching and activation plans for older people with dementia, expanding the educational offer of UTW to include diagnostics and classes to counteract dementia), and also to strive to create dementia-friendly communities, with the example of the partner. The partnership aimed to develop common methods of working with older people suffering from dementia, and counteracting this disease through various types of activities. The specific objectives were: - obtaining information on senile dementia and available methods of counteracting it - creating teaching and activation plans for older people with dementia - expanding the educational offer of UTW to include diagnostics and classes to counteract dementia - exchanging information and learning about good practices of both partners - counteracting social exclusion of people with dementia

▶Impact
The results of the project exceeded our plans, because the vast knowledge of the partners, their fantastic commitment allowed us to do more than we initially expected: We planned to introduce classes to counteract dementia, which was not only achieved, but is so popular that this month we launched a new group and are holding talks on introducing a new workshops. We planned to increase awareness of the disease in Zoliborz, and thanks to the partners' visit, we managed to meet with local authorities and present them with good practices implemented in this area in Greece. Representatives of the Capital City of Warsaw took up the topic of creating a dementia-friendly community (signs, training of services, etc.) - declared for now, we are waiting for real results. We also expected a significant increase in the involvement of our participants in UTW activities, as well as an increase in their knowledge of dementia, culture and language skills, which definitely happened - an increase in the number of registrations for activation classes, doubling (!) of participation in classes to counteract dementia, huge interest (and increase in knowledge) in prevention in the field of diet and exercise, and a very high level of satisfaction
