▶Objectives
The main goal of our project perfectly fit the motto of our school: "A person is worth as much as he can give of himself to others." We wanted to promote broadly understood integration, empathy for other people and pro-social attitudes. The implementation of the project was also of great importance for developing linguistic and cultural competences among both students and teachers, and schools developed and strengthened international partnerships.
▶Activities
Two mobilities took place during the project (from Poland to Italy and from Italy to Poland). During them, the participants gained knowledge that helped them prepare sensory gardens in their own schools. They developed the project and implemented the principles of recycling and zero waste. The result of this work was the creation of sensory gardens and a guide on how to use them. Teachers have developed scenarios of activities that can be carried out in these gardens.
▶Impact
Thanks to the project, there was an increase in pro-social awareness among young people, teachers and the entire local community. Sensory gardens are a wonderful testimony of working together for the good of others and ourselves. At the same time, thanks to the project, our linguistic and cultural competences increased, and the schools themselves gained new foreign partners and a new tool for integrated science education as well as support in the therapy and development of our students.
