▶Objectives
Through the project we wanted to: 1. establish cooperation between European teacher training institutions 2. create a platform for discussion on innovative solutions to contemporary environmental challenges 3. to exchange good practice and experience in the area of applying pedagogical innovations using, among other things, digital tools 4. to develop common outcomes for use within and outside the institution 5. broaden and enrich PCEN's training offer in the field of sustainable food and introduce topics related to combating climate change 6. improve teachers' knowledge of children and young people's health in the context of healthy food and eating habits 7. improve the English language competence of project participants 8. to contribute to the release of a large amount of creativity among teachers, to help them gain experience in implementing international projects 9. to create opportunities for the involvement of vocational pupils with fewer educational opportunities and special needs in the project activities and the use of the project results 10. to contribute to an increased cultural awareness
▶Activities
The project carried out the planned activities during the activities in Poland, Romania and Portugal. In each partner country there were: 1. workshops and trainings in selected schools cooperating with our institutions 2. study visits to universities and research institutes 3. visits to processing plants, farms producing honey and bee products, animal husbandry and plant breeding institutions 4. meetings with managers of educational establishments 5. meetings with representatives of local authorities An international conference was organised in Poland to summarise the project activities ‘ European Good Practice Examples of Sustainable Food’. The conference received the Honorary Patronage of the Minister of Education. The conference was attended by experts from Poland and abroad.
▶Impact
4 Participation in the project brought about concrete effects and intangible and tangible results contributing to a better adjustment of the vocational education system to the requirements of the labour market, the expectations of employers and an increase in the effectiveness and innovation of vocational education. Intangible results include the increase of knowledge, skills and competences of teachers and students during organised workshops, open lessons and study visits, gaining new experience including the use of modern digital technology in sustainable food production. It is also the implementation of innovative teaching methods and the realisation of tasks aimed at counteracting climate change in food production and consumption, incorporating good practices and new methods into daily activities and training offers, improving English language competence. Tangible results: creation of a website, lesson plans, the launch of qualifying courses, publication, multimedia presentation on drone handling, videos of lessons carried out, multimedia presentations, international conference, portfolio on the preparation of selected
