Green up VET!

This project addressed the evolving realities in vocational education and training, particularly in the context of climate change and the transformations occurring in economies towards green jobs, as well as the acquisition of knowledge and skills related to sustainable development and the green economy by career advisors and job seekers. Organizations WIR and WEA, with experience in supporting the labor market, enhanced the efficiency of their services, especially in a transnational context. The project aimed to develop these organizations in supporting career advisors, which resulted in multidimensional benefits: better satisfaction of labor market needs, equipping career advisors with knowledge and tools for providing guidance focused on the green economy, including newly emerging professions in this field. This, in turn, will activate individuals with fewer opportunities, reduce unemployment, improve the quality of vocational education, and counteract intercultural divisions and discrimination. WIR and WEA adopted new solutions in response to changes in the labor market and climate-related transformations and their consequences. The project provided comprehensive support for career advisors.

The main objectives of the project were: 1. Institutional growth and internationalization of WIR and WEA in the field of career counseling within a professional context through transnational cooperation. This approach enabled the exchange of experiences, an understanding of the working realities of career advisors, and insights into labor markets, including those related to the green economy. 2. Development and implementation of a new online tool – the Interactive Green Career Map – and a training program, “Lifelong Green Career Counseling.” These initiatives enhanced the quality of vocational education and training provided by WIR, WEA, and other labor market institutions, particularly in the area of the green economy. This approach improved the quality of services offered by career advisors by adapting tools to meet the needs of their work. 3. Promotion of green solutions, sustainable development, and climate change mitigation – through the adaptation of career counseling tools at WIR and WEA to the evolving labor market. As a result, effective and efficient actions to equip career advisors with knowledge and skills related to the green economy supported more impactful and sustainable contributions to the labor market.
