Objectives

The GatewayCrafts project aimed to tackle challenges in small-scale manufacturing and arts and crafts by promoting sustainable production, enabling generational transition, and bridging geographic and social gaps. The project focused on making technical knowledge accessible in remote areas, advocating for eco-friendly practices, and attracting younger audiences through innovative digital learning tools. By developing two online courses, a best practices workbook, and adapting content for social media platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, GatewayCrafts aimed to deliver decentralized, high-quality education. The initiative combined structured e-learning with informal, community-driven learning to empower learners, support vocational education providers, and highlight the value and sustainability of crafts, ensuring inclusivity and relevance for modern audiences.
