Objectives

The main objectives of the project, fully achieved through the project activities, were: O1: Development of practical skills for applying circular economy principles in recyclable waste management O2: raising awareness of the interdependence between correct waste management and carbon footprint reduction O3: improving the exchange of good practices between partner schools in order to increase the positive impact of the circular economy on the environment O4: Active participation in the project of VET students with SEN in order to work on inclusion in this type of actions and that may have social repercussions in the transition from academic to working life. Achieving the objectives led to obtaining relevant results, tangible or intangible, that were disseminated and capitalized in each partner school, but also in the local communities. By integrating the results into the didactic strategies of the partner schools, the quality of VET students' professional training was increased; sharing the results with the local communities contributed to supporting the mechanisms of the circular economy and sustainable development of society.

Activities

Within the project we carried out: 1.-three transnational activities, one in each partner school: A1: 'Less plastic, more green!'-Romania; A2: 'By reusing industrial waste, we can save the Earth!'-Spain; A3: 'Transform textile waste and use them as new items, instead of throwing them away!'-Turkiye. Within them, were held workshops in mixed multicultural teams for: making useful objects from plastic and textile waste, making natural soap from used olive oil, making compost, greening and gardening actions, making an Android application 2-activities organized in each school, related to the themes of our project: debates on the interdependence between the circular economy and the carbon footprint, creative workshops using recyclable waste, etc. 3. -dissemination and valorisation activities, carried out in partner schools, in local communities, but also at regional level 4. - specific activities for our associated eTwining project 5. - online meetings of project team members.

Impact

By implementing the project activities, the objectives were achieved, and the tangible and intangible results obtained are relevant: -tangibles: the project's logo and website; ECO good practice guide; design objects from recycled materials; natural soap; compost; presentations, photo albums, videos, posters, digital applications useful in waste management, associated eTwining project. -intangibles: practical skills for the reuse of recyclable waste; the ability to analyze the interdependence between correct waste management and the carbon footprint; ECO behaviors connected with the benefits of the circular economy and combating climate change; social, civic and communication skills in a foreign language. The students' motivation for learning improved along with the attractiveness of the lessons, organized by adapting the project's activities to the current activity. Through the use of the best practices guide created within the project, the efficiency of the technological laboratory hours and practical training of the students increased, at the same time enriching their knowledge, skills and competences related to the circular economy and environmental protection.
