The students and the teachers of both schools visited Felix Romuliana location and had the chance to see an example of a well explored ancient archaeological location as well as visiting Viminacium. The experts from the Narodni muzej u Zaječaru introduced them to the museum’s permanent setting, as well as with the archaeological location Felix Romuliana. They learned about the ways of exploring, marking and preserving such locations and were trained for mapping archaeological locations, as well as expanded their digital competencies while they worked on the digital guide. Considering the fact that the product of this project is a digital guide called “Following the paths of ancient civilizations”, written in three languages and created to be an additional educational tool intended for the wider public, they had an opportunity to learn about how to present historical locations to the public. The students and teachers of both schools became familiar with the historical locations in both countries and based on the research and mapping they worked on creating, planning and making the digital guide, with the assistance of the participating teachers and parents and by using ICT tools.

Participants met through online meetings, planned the further steps, tasks, agreed on the way of writing documentation and chose the tools for making the Digital guide. The first mobility:the visit of the participants form Grohote to the participants of Tvrđava, preparation for the visit and visit itself to Narodni muzej u Zaječaru and to Felix Romuliana, an interview with a curator, a workshop about the techniques of mapping, a visit to Viminacium, working on the collected materials and its preparation for the Digital guide.The second mobility: the visit of the participants from Tvrđava to the participants from Grohote, getting to know Šolta and the school Grohote, visiting the archaeological locations on the island, the process of mapping, gathering the material,planning and beginning of the making of the Digital guide. Next phase: making the guide in cooperation with one of the parents of a participant of the project.Dissemination: the process and the product itself are presented on the web pages of the partners, their social media,the posters in schools,on the teachers’ meetings,online portals, parent-teacher meetings and through a festival open to wider public.The results are shown on the Erasmus+ platform and ESEP platform.

The final product of the project is the Digital guide made in Serbian, Croatian and English language, which is important for developing the language competencies of the students. The Guide is a part of the program for the fifth and the sixth grade of both schools. It is available to the public on the websites of the partners, their social media and on the ESEP platform and because of that it is available to everyone as a didactic tool. Since it is in digital form, the changes in it are possible by the next generations of the students of the 5th and the 6th grade of these schools. Working on this project allowed the teachers participants to develop their cross-curriculum competencies, it empowered the students to explore, gather, work on the materials, it developed their digital skills, their communication, cooperation and the presentation of materials. We also expect more interest from the local community for preserving archaeological and historical locations, as well as for visiting museums. The Digital guide will be used by the students of next generations and using it they will expand their knowledge about the archaeological locations on these territories.
