Objectives

The ability of students to become catalysts for future evolution is inextricably linked to their capacity for conscious action. Research into the impacts of environmental education on students shows remarkable results: 90% of students experience skill improvement, 86% develop positive behavioural changes, and 83% enhance their environmentally related behaviours. These findings highlight the powerful role environmental education plays in shaping responsible, proactive individuals. This underscores the critical importance of sustainable schools, which serve as vital platforms for fostering these competencies. Our project aims to encourage the growth of environmentally conscious global citizens by instilling values and knowledge that promote sustainability. By integrating environmental education into daily learning, students can develop not only a deeper connection with nature but also practical skills to address real-world challenges. We focus on enhancing interdisciplinary education, including coding, green literacy, media literacy, and digital literacy. These combined efforts aim to nurture creative thinking and problem-solving abilities among students. By equipping them with these essential skills.

Activities

Turkey will host the 1st International In-Person Meeting in May 2023, marking the official launch of our transnational collaboration. Additional transnational meetings will be conducted throughout all short-term joint staff training sessions to ensure continuous alignment and collaboration among partner institutions. These short-term training sessions will specifically focus on joint teacher training and will be held according to the following schedule: LTT-1: November 2023, hosted in France. LTT-2: February 2024, hosted in Türkiye-İstanbul. LTT-3: June 2024, hosted in Greece. Finally, in June 2024, Türkiye-Söke will host the Final International Conference, where key findings, best practices, and project results will be shared with a broader audience. This event aims to disseminate the knowledge and experiences gained, fostering further collaboration and innovation among educational stakeholders. Additionally, in June 2024, Türkiye-Söke will host the Final International Meeting (Evaluation Meeting) to assess the progress and outcomes of the project. This evaluation will provide insights into the effectiveness of the training programs and offer recommendations for future initiatives.
