5R4Future
▶Summary
Objectives The project aims to engage youngsters with socially disadvantaged backgrounds to fight against climate change. In a natural environment both their ecological know-how (with 5R) and their personal and social skills that help them integrate into society (with experiential education) will be improved. Additionally they will learn about cultural differences and tolerance through experiencing a transnational environment and be encouraged to apply ecological behaviour in their everyday lives. Activities Besides PM & Dissemination, 5R4Future aims to implement the following activities: by developing purposeful modules for the 5R Camp, drafting a baseline for attitude observations and conducting preparatory workshops for trainers, the foundation for a 5R Camp for 12 adolescents is set. A 10-day camp for socially disadvantaged youth focusing on environmental issues will be the centre part. 5R4Future will be concluded through a ReUnion weekend and a Multiplication Day. Impact We assume that the project will encourage socially disadvantaged young people from Austria and Hungary to become more involved with the topics of environmental protection, waste separation and climate change through close encounters with nature during the 5R Camp. At the same time trainers and youth workers are encouraged to adopt the 5R methodology and use EE methods in order to strengthen marginalised young people and promote their inclusion into society.
