Education for sustainable development in cities - Explore

Objectives In the 21st century cities face unprecendented challenges. Ecological necessities of our climate and biodiversity crisis make the reimagining of cities inevitable. Therefore imaginaries of urban development and living have to adapt. Education for sustainable development (ESD) can play a pivotal role in this effort, by helping young creative minds to develop new lifestyles and adressing young people as political citizens of their communities. The project will work on a new European urban ESD. Activities To redefine how urban living looks like various projects are already under way. Organizations of this Erasmus+ consortium are working in educational projects with young people and in this way shape how sustainable lifestyles looks in future. With on-site visits, an online-exchange platform, a final conference and the development of a method toolkit ongoing and future activities are tied together and a powerful European initative for urban ESD is established. Impact By putting together experiences from various urban ESG-projects the consortium will gain insight into succesfull methods and develop ideas to foster youth participation in urban transformation.
