Summary

Objectives FACE IT is about using theatre as a creative tool to promote greater empowerment and active citizenship among diverse immigrant and marginalised youth (DI&MY) with a view towards ultimately cultivating more joyfully diverse, inclusive and integrated communities in European cities. By providing trainers with opportunities to exchange and test best practices for working with DI&MY, it also seeks to increase the quality and accessibility of workshops for DI&MY and preparation for trainers. Activities -2 Preparatory Site Visits -2 Study Visits (Amsterdam + Warsaw) where trainers who work with DI&MY using theatre can observe and exchange methods -1 Work Session to debrief on study visits and discuss best practices -12 free workshops each in Amsterdam and Warsaw to apply and test best practices working with DI&MY and develop performances -2 free community performances each in Amsterdam and Warsaw -Final evaluation meeting -Creation of project deliverables and dissemination of project results Impact We expect the project will result in improved professional capacity among participant trainers, increased sense of empowerment and tangible theatrical and communication skills among participant youth and increased cross-cultural understanding and exchange among local communities and audiences. In addition, the project will deliver and disseminate a Best Practices Report, Project Video and a Project Website where all results will be shared.
