These were the project's objectives: - Boost VET Appeal: Integrating sustainability into VET makes it more attractive to students and helps build a greener workforce. - Ensure Sustainable Education: Certification encourages VET providers to embed sustainability in curricula and operations. - Standardize the Greening Process: A uniform certification process ensures fairness, transparency, and efficiency. - Support EU VET Policy: Aligns with EU and national strategies, aiding the certification of Green Skills Competence Centres. The following outcomes were expected: EU-wide best practices compendium; Certification criteria for Green Education Centers; Focus group findings report on UNESCO-UNEVOC criteria; Online workshop; Pilot implementations in Greece and Austria.

The following activities were implemented in the course of the project period: - Assessment of Current State: Analyzed the existing situation in VET regarding sustainability and green education via surveys, interviews and questionnaires. Results can be seen in the reports published on the PRP. - Development and Finalization of Certification Criteria: Created, refined, and presented a standardized set of criteria for certifying Green Education Centers. - Pilot Testing in VET Schools where we implemented and evaluated the criteria in selected vocational schools to assess feasibility and effectiveness. All documents developed in the course of the project (i.e. Quality Synthesis Report, Quality Assurance Report, Compendium, Dissemination Report, Piloting Report, Focus Group Report, Guide for Self-Assessment, Communication Plan) can be reviewed on the European Results Platform.

The project activities led to the following three key results: 1) Expert Insights and Research Contributions: The project leveraged expertise from UNESCO-UNEVOC, FH Joanneum, GreenTEC Academy, and Cedefop to develop certification criteria for Green Education Centers. Expert interviews provided clarity on certification responsibilities and legal aspects. Findings were compiled into a publicly available compendium. 2) Key Deliverables: A set of certification criteria for Green Education Centers in Europe, which was piloted; interviews & questionnaire results from a diverse focus group (Greece, Austria, Germany) discussing UNESCO-UNEVOC criteria; A report summarizing focus group findings; An online workshop to present the certification criteria. 3) Pilot Testing and Validation of the certification criteria developed: The criteria were tested in vocational schools to assess their applicability, validity, and usability. Feedback from the pilots helped refine and improve both the criteria and the certification process.
