Objectives

The main objective of the Digital Explor’Her project was to promote the inclusion of women in the digital sector by enabling them to better understand its fundamentals and associated skills. By producing 20 short pre-training videos in French, English and Dutch, we popularised key topics (AI, SEO, cybersecurity, social media, etc.) to reduce barriers to orienting towards digital careers. We sought to address two linked challenges: limited access to clear, concise information and the feelings of illegitimacy reported by many women, especially those aged 35-55 and often in career transition. The free, online and pedagogical format was designed to spark curiosity, build confidence and encourage a first step towards more advanced training. Finally, the project aimed to deliver a practical, community-tested tool (tested with GIRLEEK and Social Builder), easily reusable by training centres, inclusion organisations and employers to support diversity in a sector facing a talent shortage. We also prioritised broad dissemination and monitoring — organising a launch forum and follow-up webinars, publicly hosting the materials, and collecting usage metrics and user feedback to inform future scaling and policy recommendations. We wanted to

Activities

The project unfolded in three main stages. 1- Pedagogical kit development: Twenty short, dynamic and accessible videos were produced in French, Dutch and English to explain key digital topics (AI, cybersecurity, cookies, search engines, etc.). They were designed for women distanced from digital technology and were published on YouTube between April and May 2025. 2- User testing: The videos were tested with groups of women from the GIRLEEK and Social Builder communities. Three videos were selected and evaluated using Google Forms questionnaires (before, during and after viewing), followed by moderated group discussions. These tests validated comprehension, led to format adjustments and confirmed pedagogical usefulness. 3- Dissemination and support: A ready-to-use kit (workshop scenarios, Genially, social posts, newsletter templates, hashtags, CTAs) was made available to trainers and inclusion professionals and presented at an online launch forum. By end of July 2025 the videos had accumulated c. 3,462 views and related forum materials c. 2,222 views (see annex “Video schedule & results”).

Impact

The project delivered concrete and reusable outputs that were publicly accessible and taken up by partner organisations. We produced and published 20 pedagogical videos in French, English and Dutch explaining key digital topics (cybersecurity, AI, cookies, search engines, etc.). The videos were released on YouTube between April and May 2025 and had accumulated c. 3,462 views by 31 July 2025. A comprehensive, ready-to-use pedagogical kit was created and made freely available: workshop scenarios, a Genially support, communication examples, social templates, hashtags and calls-to-action. The kit and videos were validated through user testing with GIRLEEK and Social Builder communities and refined based on feedback. A launch forum, follow-up webinars and a set of short-format videos (panel, testimonials, AI in training) amplified reach and generated c. 2,222 additional views. Beyond outputs and metrics, the project strengthened cooperation between inclusion actors, provided trainers with immediately deployable tools (integrated into DIGISTART training based on Digcomp framework at GIRLEEK and partner curricula), and produced documentation and source files to facilitate future reuse and scaling across Belgium and France.
