Objectives

Our project aims to improve reading and writing skills by using multiple intelligences as a lever for motivation. Each student has unique talents, and recognizing them helps make learning more effective and engaging. Our objectives are as follows: • Strengthen fundamental skills: By integrating multiple intelligences, we aim to make reading and writing more accessible and appealing. • Boost student motivation: By valuing different forms of intelligence (linguistic, logical-mathematical, musical, spatial, bodily-kinesthetic, interpersonal/intrapersonal, naturalistic), each student can feel acknowledged and involved. • Promote inclusive teaching: This project allows us to adapt our practices to diverse learner profiles (multilingual students, students with learning difficulties, etc.) through varied and interactive materials. • Encourage teacher collaboration: Working together across schools is a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas, innovate, and create shared resources that benefit everyone.

Activities

Here are the three activities we implemented: Training sessions on multiple intelligences (in Belgium), oral communication (in France, with the École de l’Oralité), and on Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). Creation of joint lessons, a communication booklet, a writing journal, and the setup of a pedagogical resource cabinet. Virtual and in-person exchanges between students.

Impact

All of our work has been shared on a Padlet accessible online. We created: A giant illustrated ABC book (ABCdaire), Various lesson plans focused on reading and writing skills, incorporating multiple intelligences and enabling true differentiation in teaching, Our own “immobile logbook”, designed to start from the children's real-life experiences as a basis for writing activities, A communication booklet for multilingual children or those with speech difficulties, An AAC panel (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) placed in the school playground to facilitate interaction, A pedagogical resource cabinet equipped with tools and materials available to all teachers in the school.
