Objectives

We want to develop environmental consciousness, sensitivity and active engagement in the fight against climate change by fostering the pupils’ awareness about the Sustainable Development Goals that aims to end hunger, improve nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture. We also want to improve the pupils’ key competences weaving the 21st century skills into learning experiences. ‘Food for the Future’ will also contribute to the understanding, respect and cooperation with other cultures.

Activities

Some of the planned activities are: presentation of the school, city and country, lessons about the need of sustainability, gardening, presenting and sharing with various digital resources, cooking workshops to prepare sustainable food, creating of eBooks with recipes and lessons for teachers, video journals,... We also plan three transnational meetings built around four Sustainable Development Goals where children will exchange experiences and do workshops concerning the topics.

Impact

We hope children will be aware of the need of sustainable food so that they change not only their eating habits but also those of their families and in their school. We hope that they use their acquired knowledge to change their consciousness to buy sustainable ingredients to prepare meals. Due to the transnational meetings they will be open to other cultures. These meetings will also promote active European citizenship.
