Objectives

The 21st century presents us with significant climatological challenges that require us to reconsider our use of resources and materials in our surroundings, and how to leverage them in the most sustainable way in our daily lives. This project aims to develop circular ways of thinking and working in secondary VET schools, and to ensure that these environmentally conscious pathways become embedded in local communities, and in future-proof VET curricula.

Activities

To this end, we will organize activities such as workshops, community building, mobility, and a ‘living lab’ methodology where ca. 250 students across 10 VET schools in 6 countries will design their own farm-to-table project, bridging sustainable green management, circular infrastructure, and attention to the effects of nutrition on personal health. The project will also yield two educational packages on circular design and outdoor education, that can be implemented in schools across Europe.

Impact

The project team will jointly create workshop formats on the SDGs, climate, nutrition and health, lasting stakeholder networks, and a digital mapping of all green designs in the project. Through these results, we plan to accomplish an increased knowledge and awareness of climate action among VET students and teachers, and the socio-economic viability of green initiatives in school environments. Wider impact includes societal health and collective engagement for a sustainable future.
