Objectives

The main goal of the project was to create space and conditions for sharing experiences among the organizations InErudico, Paragon, and Siglo22 in supporting people with disabilities in their inclusion in the labor market. The partner organizations wanted to present proven and effective working methods, learn from one another, and thereby improve the quality of their services. Another aim was to present real-life examples where, despite difficult life situations, it was possible to find suitable employment and thus improve the quality of life of the people involved. With these examples, we wanted to inspire others who hesitate or do not know how to ask for help when searching for suitable employment. Summary of objectives: - share experiences on the topic from different European countries, - raise awareness among the target group about practical tools of career counseling, - increase knowledge about variety of opportunities in the open labor market, - share good practice examples—stories of people with mental disabilities who succeeded in finding work, - support a positive attitude in the target group towards overcoming barriers to entering employment, - promote the inclusion of people with mental disabilities in the labor market

Activities

1) Motivational Video for the Target Group – We created a video intended for the general public that, in a positive atmosphere, brings inspiration to people who face health limitations and are unable to find satisfying employment. The video does not only present real-life examples but also features interviews with experts in career counseling and psychology, who speak about specific methods of support. The video was produced in four language versions and is available on the project website: https://workasaremedy.eu/index.php/en/ 2) Good Practice book – We collected inspiring stories from all participating countries and, in the form of a visually attractive book, disseminate them to the target group. Behind these stories are real people, willing to share their experiences in order to help others overcome fears and health-related challenges and enter the labor market. The book is available online as an e-book on the project website. It can also be downloaded for offline use. A printed version of the Good Practice book is also available. The book has been produced in four language versions.

Impact

The results are directly linked to the implemented activities: 1) Motivational Video for the Target Group – The final version includes interviews conducted in all three participating countries, featuring experts such as psychologists and career counselors, as well as members of the target group. The video is available in English and in the three partner languages. For the language versions, we used the voice-over technique, which is more accessible to people with various disabilities than subtitles. In addition, each partner made use of shortened versions of the video to capture the attention of the target group on social media. 2) Good Practice book – The book contains real stories of members of the target group who successfully made use of available support tools and found employment in the labor market. It exists in four language versions—the languages of the partners as well as English. For dissemination, both the printed version (suitable, for example, for doctor’s offices) and the electronic version in the form of an e-book are used. Both project results are freely accessible on the project website: https://workasaremedy.eu/index.php/en/
