Through the SPECTRUM project, we aimed to respond to the shortage of teachers trained in special pedagogy and to strengthen mainstream schools’ capacity to support pupils with diverse SEN. Our objectives followed three priorities: promoting inclusion and diversity, supporting teachers and school leaders, and improving the quality of education. We wanted to provide teachers with clear, intuitive tools that help them understand how children with different disabilities and learning difficulties perceive the world and how to adapt their teaching accordingly. A main goal was to offer practical resources - infographic guidelines, best practice examples, and activity sheets, that translate SEN theory into simple strategies which teachers can use in their classrooms. We also aimed to build a sustainable digital platform where teachers can freely access all materials and continue developing their skills. Ultimately, we wanted the project to increase teacher confidence, reduce inequalities in support, and ensure that all pupils benefit from high-quality, inclusive education.
