βΆObjectives
Our aim is to increase knowledge and awareness about climate change induced environmental transitions across Europe and to tackle misinformation about ecological issues in public discourse. This project wants to connect students, teachers and experts to form a transnational European network and facilitate a transdisciplinary and cooperative learning experience bridging natural and social sciences and societal actors. It will activate a problem-solving process towards more sustainability.
βΆActivities
The key activities to achieve the project objectives are the annual online course followed by a summer school organized in selected partner countries. Each partner will contribute specific lectures to the online course, which forms the common basis for their practical application and testing during the summer school. New teaching materials and methods will be improved by ongoing evaluations from students and teachers, used for subsequent activities and made available, also to the wider public.
βΆImpact
The expected tangible results of our project are an online database of tools, models and interactive tutorials for ecosystem carbon footprint assessment, an accessible online course, as well as videos and other publicly available teaching materials. Further, a guide for the successful handling of scientific information and its transfer to publics from the local to the European scale will be created. Lastly, professional videos will be provided to support broad public education.
