▶Objectives
U-CARE aims to establish new learning modules in the participating HEIs based on the UrbanCare 3-step methodology: 1. urban health research 2. neighborhood diagnostics 3. decision-making workshops. The main objectives are to (i) realize a complete knowledge transfer of the UrbanCare methods with 4 case studies, (ii) develop an urban health spatial planning platform, and (iii) implement capacity-building and training academic modules meeting the demands of future green labor markets.
▶Activities
U-CARE will carry out the following main activities: - Urban Health Indicator Development - Mixed methods research on four sites (Florence, Gothenburg, Berlin and Nicosia) - Four Decision Making Workshops (1 in each partner country) to communicate urban issues and problem-solving - U-Care Web Platforms with users’ interfaces - Five databases (spatial inequity, urban heat, surface runoff, biotope loss, and users’ needs and preferences) - Urban Care Training Configuration and Piloting
▶Impact
The key outcome of U-CARE is developing students’ skills in various sustainable development sectors through innovative training and capacity building tailored for the requirements of the future green labor market. The expected results are 1) five learning modules and materials, 2) the U-CARE Web Platform, 3) five open databases with environmental and anonymized outdoor user data, 4) 20 urban health site reports, 5) four local urban health strategic action plans, 6) four scientific articles.
