▶Objectives
The project aimed to create a platform for exchange and networking through transnational meetings. The aim was to jointly develop methodological, didactic and practical findings and integrate them into formal and informal educational formats. The involvement of the target groups in the planning was to ensure that their needs were taken into account. Task-based learning as well as project and group work were to promote sustainable knowledge building in international meetings and cultural diversity, support the discourse on global topics and skills development. Topics such as diversity, environmental protection and social cohesion were to be the focus, as were questions about a diversity-sensitive curriculum, dealing with social tensions and the active promotion of changes in perspective. Answers to questions such as: How targeted is our curriculum actually? How can we make our curriculum more sensitive to diversity, focus more on the idea of environmental protection and promote European social cohesion within the EU?
▶Activities
Five partner meetings were held, for each of which a specific programme was developed. The partners got to know educational offers and social projects, analysed them methodically and didactically and tested their transferability to their own organisation. Electronic meetings were held between the meetings to consolidate the results. These were documented and made available to all participants. In small groups formed during the meetings, findings were further reflected on and recorded. Other multipliers and responsible parties were also involved on site. The experience gained was incorporated into local networks and communicated to existing public sector structures (e.g. local authorities, parliaments, education associations, specialist conferences). Broad-based public relations work is planned at both local and national level. Target groups include regional and national partners, educational institutions, political bodies and the media in addition to the organisations themselves. Between the meetings, work packages were further developed via social media, the results of which were summarised in the follow-up meetings and further reflected in good practice examples.
▶Impact
As part of the project, various educational offers and social projects were familiarised with, their methodology and didactics analysed and their transferability to the own organisation examined. Future educational programmes should increasingly promote an awareness of diversity within European society. Participants will be empowered to work together with their target groups to create respectful coexistence and to develop both content and methods in a participatory manner. The knowledge gained from the project will be used sustainably by all partner organisations. In particular, they are incorporated into the planning and implementation of non-formal and social education work, with a focus on methodological implementation and the promotion of intercultural skills. The project thus makes a long-term contribution to quality assurance and improvement in educational work and strengthens cooperation within European educational networks.
