SUN aimed to strengthen the development of the participating partner organisations through European exchange and networking in the field of ESD. The focus was on training multipliers with different social, educational and professional backgrounds to promote sufficiency-oriented educational work in urban areas. The aim was to impart skills that would enable them to address diverse target groups, design creative educational formats and actively support social transformation processes. The participants were to familiarise themselves with proven and innovative concepts, further develop their own approaches and work together to develop an educational campaign on the topic of sufficiency in urban contexts. The focus was also on intergenerational, social and cultural integration. By combining personal learning, organisational change and European cooperation, SUN aimed to help drive forward the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals both locally and transnationally.

SUN comprised a series of coordinated measures to strengthen sufficiency-orientated ESD in urban areas. The central components were two multi-day workshop seminars in Vienna and Magdeburg, where multipliers from Austria, Germany and Italy developed, tested and reflected on innovative educational formats. These were supplemented by an online training course on sufficiency projects in Brixen, South Tyrol. At the same time, an active working group worked for over a year on the further development of the ‘I've had enough’ education campaign. This resulted in new formats such as a sufficiency city tour, creative workshop modules and target group and topic-specific versions of a sufficiency learning course. Two face-to-face coordination meetings and regular video conferences enabled the successful implementation of the project and coordination between the partners. The project results were disseminated via websites, social media, print articles and local events. This enabled an intensive European exchange and strengthened the educational work of the partner organisations in the long term.

SUN led to the development and testing of diverse, practical educational formats on sufficiency in urban areas. The key outputs include revised versions of the ‘I've had enough’ course, a newly designed sufficiency city tour and creative workshop methods on topics such as nutrition, clothing, values and consumption. The formats were developed, tested and documented in seminars and by a transnational working group. In addition, specialised articles were published in the magazines SOL and initiativ. Some of the multipliers have integrated educational content and impulses from the SUN project into their work. The materials have also been integrated into the educational work of the partner organisations and are available for further use. In addition, new networks, in-depth expertise and personal connections were created among the participants - a sustainable contribution to the European ESD landscape.
