▶Objectives
Humanitarian crises cause physical and psychological trauma, with the conflicts in Ukraine and the earthquake in Turkey resulting in losses of life, displacement of communities, and isolation. Mentalhealth support is crucial for recovery. DETAM aims to train mental health professionals to use digital technology to increase access to digital mental health services. The project's goal is to enable individuals to recover and heal in a hybrid manner under the guidance of mental health professionals.
▶Activities
DETAM is a 6-step project aimed at enhancing the use of digital technologies in mental health rehabilitation. It involves conducting field research to identify target group needs, developing training content, conducting a pilot training session, preparing a project report, disseminating outcomes and measuring changes in psychologists approach towards digital technology. DETAM runs from Oct 2023 to Apr 2025, with the hope of contributing to the mental health sector's effectiveness and efficiency.
▶Impact
DETAM aims to increase mental health providers' familiarity with digital technologies, reducing their workload while offering better quality services to more people. The project seeks to enhance accessibility, particularly for individuals affected by humanitarian crises, contributing to a healthier and happier society. DETAM's outcomes may inform policy and practice related to mental health services, leading to innovative interventions and improvements in training and service delivery.
