Objectives

With NOGAP, the project partners pursued the goal of effectively transferring proven personal development formats from the school context into inter-company vocational training (ÜBA). The focus was on adapting the existing and evidence-based RYL! training modules 'stress and resilience management' and 'unfolding potential' to the lived reality of apprentices. The aim was to proactively prevent dropouts and to promote key competencies such as self-efficacy, reflective thinking, and personal responsibility – as a foundation for successful completion of training and a mindset geared toward lifelong learning. In addition, IPC trainers specialized in ÜBA settings were to be empowered through a train-the-trainer format to deliver the content independently. In the long term, this was intended to make a structural contribution to improving permeability between school-based and vocational education – with the potential to be transferred to other educational contexts.

Activities

In the course of the project, the transfer of two RYL! training modules ('stress and resilience management' and 'unfolding potential') into inter-company vocational training (ÜBA) was implemented step by step. In IO1, the modules were piloted during two training days within the ÜBA framework to develop a difference profile between school-based and vocational education contexts. At the same time, a project management manual was created. In IO2, the training content was adapted in collaboration with ÜBA trainers, and a new compact format was developed. This revised format was tested in a one-day workshop. Additionally, a train-the-trainer workshop was conducted, accompanied by a scientifically guided evaluation process. In IO3, micro lessons were integrated into the regular training programme to reinforce the learning outcomes, and a trainer’s manual was developed. The project concluded with a final event in Munich, where the results were presented to relevant stakeholders and potential partners.

Impact

NOGAP generated several concrete results. First, a difference profile was developed in a joint workshop involving the project partners and participating trainers, following the initial delivery of the training sessions with apprentices in IO1. This output served as the foundation for further development of the training modules, which had previously only been applied in school-based settings. A central result is the newly designed compact training format, specifically tailored to the conditions of inter-company vocational training (ÜBA). This format was piloted, evaluated, and further refined. To ensure long-term integration, a comprehensive trainer manual was developed, containing methods, content, and practical implementation guidance. Through train-the-trainer workshops, ÜBA trainers were qualified to deliver the modules independently and were also able to reflect on and apply the content to their own professional practice. In addition, the project outcomes were disseminated via events, social media, and professional networks of the project partners. The project thus laid the foundation for sustainable transfer between school-based and vocational education.
