▶Objectives
The main goal was to develop and establish an international network that supports SMEs in Saxony-Anhalt, Malta and Ireland in implementing comprehensive Diversity Management. This approach was intended to cover all areas of human resources – from training and talent development to recruitment, onboarding and further qualification of international employees. Through the exchange of good practices, development of shared materials and organization of workshops, the project aimed to create a lasting competence network. In the long term, companies should be empowered to actively shape diversity, promote intercultural skills and strengthen their competitiveness and attractiveness as employers.
▶Activities
The project was carried out in three phases: analysis, network foundation, and evaluation with dissemination. The first phase focused on identifying existing structures, needs and good practices in all partner countries. The official establishment of the “Diversity Network Saxony-Anhalt” took place in Dublin in July 2025. Regular online meetings, workshops and partner conferences ensured continuous coordination via MS Teams and Google Drive. In parallel, materials and workshops were developed to anchor Diversity Management as a cross-cutting HR task – including training, recruitment and staff development. The project was presented at professional events and through targeted social media posts to raise awareness and attract new participants.
▶Impact
The project resulted in the creation of the international Diversity Network with partners from Germany, Ireland and Malta. Key outputs include the Diversity Toolkit, workshop and project flyers, and evaluation reports for quality assurance. Dissemination through the project website, social media and professional events increased visibility across regions. Planned follow-up workshops will focus on integrating diversity into training and HR development – including sessions for international students at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences and Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, and online workshops for SMEs on global recruitment and integration. The network will continue beyond the project period, promoting diversity and sustainable talent management across all HR areas of SMEs.
