PowerUP: Adapting VET programmes to the 21st Century Needs in E-Transition of the Automotive Industry
▶Objectives
The PowerUp project is focused on adapting vocational education and training to the fastly approaching and unavoidable changes in the automotive industry towards electric mobility. The PowerUp project aims to provide students and apprentices of car mechanics, car engineers, auto-electricians, autotronics and similar programmes with the skills needed for the market of the future and reflected the needs of the professional occupations that do not yet exist but are unstoppably coming to Europe.
▶Activities
Throughout the PowerUp project, various activities will be implemented, including the development of a variety of e-learning materials (professional guidelines for VET teachers, Jobs&Skills manual for VET students and 12 in-depth and highly specific e-learning units), a comprehensive e-learning platform with a self-assessment tool for skills of the future, 3 train-the-trainer webinars and an international pilot testing of the project results.
▶Impact
The main project result is the creation of a complex learning programme for VET teachers and trainers on electric mobility and e-transition. The PowerUp project expects to upskill teachers and trainers on the methods of teaching e-mobility education by using highly professional learning materials and, therefore, to equip apprentices and vocational students of such programmes and schools with competencies that will be needed in the future labour market and will thus not be left behind.
