Objectives

proCURE aims at educating municipal staff and political decision-makers in sustainable procurement and wants to make them confident in implementing sustainable practice at their workplace. Administrative staff in local authorities are often loyal to their employment and offering them practical material for lifelong learning and professional development would make a key objective for our project, besides closing a gap in vocational education and providing practical teaching material on the topic.

Activities

The highly experienced consortium will start with a collection of existing knowledge and initiatives and will motivate a network of experts. The development of practical training material, a curriculum with teaching material, a train-the-trainer-course as well as a procedure on joint sustainable procurement, according to legal framework conditions in Alpine countries are the core of proCURE. This will be accompanied by dissemination activities such as podcasts, explanatory videos and webinars.

Impact

The following results will be open to interested municipalities and public authorities as well as educational institutions after proCURE: – a toolbox and handbook for implementing sustainable procurement practice in municipalities – a curriculum, incl. teaching material for schools of public administration, educating future procurers – a train-the-trainer-course – a procedure for joint sustainable procurement – podcasts and explanatory videos for awareness raising and training purposes
