Objectives

B4C aims to make an innovative contribution to the GREEN DEAL. It will introduce new VET learning fields in the framework of a Circular Carbon Economy (CCE) approach focusing on Biochar product and value chains (B4C). Biochar has the potential to substantially sequester CO2 and substituting fossil coal and opens attractive educational scenarios to promote concrete applications for STEM education. TRAIL will qualify VET staff in this domain, pilot the approach and roll it out on a European scale.

Activities

5 experienced partners from DE, LU, FR, SE representing 3 VET sectors (construction, agriculture horticulture) will collaborate on: • A European wide analysis of the state of the art related to CCE and biochar in VET • An innovative training for professionals for agri- and horticultural and construction sector and piloting the resulting VET courses. • A platform for courses, virtual exhibition for good practice and a KA1 module for CCE • Valorisation on a large-scale European level.

Impact

B4C will develop: • A European survey (incl., good examples and acting recommendations within the CCE sector) • A CPD (with 15 educational staff members) and piloted incl.15 VET learners, transferrable to other VET sectors, • A comprehensive B4C platform with online learning areas and an exhibition for the VET learners’ experiences, • A B4C network organisation founded during a large European conference.
