Objectives

Our main objective in implementing this Erasmus+ project was to equip students with a deeper understanding of the environmental challenges posed by climate change and pollution. We aimed to educate them about the negative effects on the atmosphere, land, and oceans, and how these issues threaten ecosystems and human health. We sought to foster critical thinking on how everyday behaviors contribute to pollution and climate change. Through international cooperation with schools from Germany, Italy, and Turkey, we wanted students to explore innovative, sustainable solutions to these global problems. The project was designed to promote cross-cultural learning, enabling students to exchange ideas, experience new approaches, and understand how environmental challenges are addressed in different countries. Our long-term goal was to cultivate a generation of environmentally conscious students who are empowered to take concrete action. By the end of the project, we hoped they would feel responsible for advocating sustainable practices and promoting positive changes within their communities.

Activities

In our Erasmus+ project, we implemented a variety of activities across all three partner cities—Bremen,Taranto, and Izmit—focused on raising awareness about environmental issues. We organized visits to museums with exhibits on climate change and pollution to give students a deeper understanding of environmental challenges through interactive learning. Additionally, workshops were held in each of the schools, where students engaged in discussions and hands-on activities about sustainability, pollution reduction, and eco-friendly practices. We also visited local businesses and companies that prioritize environmentally conscious methods in their operations. This allowed students to see real-life examples of how sustainable practices are implemented in various industries. These visits helped students understand how businesses can play a role in reducing their environmental footprint. Through these activities, our aim was to provide students with both theoretical knowledge and practical examples of how environmental issues are being tackled locally and globally.

Impact

The concrete outputs and results of our Erasmus+ project included a range of digital resources designed to promote environmental awareness. One of the key outputs was the creation of social media content, which was shared across various platforms to engage a broader audience. This content highlighted the activities we conducted and delivered key messages on climate change, pollution, and sustainability. We also developed an eBook, which documented everything we worked on during the project. It includes insights from our workshops, visits, and discussions, as well as practical strategies for reducing pollution and case studies from our partner countries. Another major output were interactive eGames centered on environmental challenges. The games allows players to make sustainable choices and see the real-world impact of their decisions, making learning both engaging and impactful.
