Objectives

The project served the scientifically based validation and further development of qualification and support offers for school leaders, especially school principals, through the use of professional recording methods and their cross-country evaluation and securing of results in the triad of science, practice and administration. It aimed to create medium-term, reliable forecasts for suitable professionalization measures for people in school management positions in order to achieve a high degree of fit between offers and urgent needs in the field of further training. 1. Key competencies of Dutch and German school management in 2030 have been identified and are conceptually incorporated into the curricula for school management qualification, if not already included. 2. Relevant school management qualifications for acquiring the key competencies in 2030 have been developed or further developed, tested and piloted in both institutes. 3. A European network of school management and training institutes for school management from at least 6 European countries is strengthened and expanded through cooperation and dissemination of project results

Activities

Activity 1: Preparation of the peer learning activity Activity 2: Implementation of the peer learning activity Activity 3: Needs analysis for the professional development of school management taking into account national and European recommendations with the result of an assessment report Activity 4: Scenario workshop on key competences by comparing the needs analysis with the results of the focus group meeting with the result of a competency framework for school management Activity 5: Comparison of the LISUM-NSO qualification programs Activity 6: Review of the needs analysis and the scenarios by the trainers of NSO and LISUM (workshop) Activity 7: Module and curriculum development based on the findings with the result of a compilation of recommendations and example modules for school management qualifications Activity 8: Development of an international professionalization module Activity 9: Presentation of the results to other school management institutes and strengthening of the European network through inclusion in the 12th LISUM School Management Conference with 6 training institutes for school management qualifications and joint implementation (LISUM-NSO) of a module at four schools (add on)

Impact

1. Peer learning activity in Amsterdam prepared and organized by school principals from Berlin-Brandenburg and Amsterdam 2. Sept. 17-20, 2023: SL from Berlin and Brandenburg and representatives of LISUM traveled to Amsterdam to engage in an intensive exchange on questions of the professional self-image of school principals 3. Survey was prepared and carried out simultaneously and across the board in Berlin, Brandenburg and Amsterdam. Goal: to record the most important fields of activity of school principals and the key competencies required to fulfill these fields of activity 4. Workshop February 13, 2024: Results of the survey on key competencies of school principals with discussion/comparison. Enrichment with scientific perspectives of pedagogy and business 5. existing qualification programs from LISUM and NSO compared in terms of basic approaches, fields of action and topics as well as desired competencies 6. Workshop April 25th/26th, 2024: needs analysis and scenarios by trainers/school management 7. Modules and curricula continuously developed together with school management, NSO and LISUM 8. international professionalization module developed 9. presentation of results at int. conference with 8 int. institutes and follow up
