▶Objectives
With this project we’re targeting youth workers and adolescents. The central question of this project is “how is it possible to sensitize adolescents to democratic values and to help them become interested in active social commitments through low-threshold activities?”. To address this question we are going to develop an experiential educational concept in form of a democracy-summer-camp.
▶Activities
We are going to engage in a method-exchange and a further training covering the areas of experiential & political education. Then we will design a concept for an experiential democracy camp taking place in summer 2024. After piloting the concept with about 30 adolescents we will evaluate it with the help of the participants and youth work professionals. When the evaluation and revision are concluded the concept will be made public in form of a brochure and with the help of a public online event.
▶Impact
The concept will be documented with a brochure and will be made accessible publicly. Other concrete outcomes of the project will be the further training within the fields of experiential and political education of the youth work professionals engaged in this project and new offers within the youth organizations. In the long run we hope to use this approach to encourage adolescents to actively advocate for democratic values and to be outspoken towards right-wing attitudes.
