▶Objectives
The project seeks to achieve the following objectives: 1. Increase pan-European awareness about European matters 2. Make education about the EU more accessible and inclusive to a broader spectrum of learners 3. Strengthen the participation of young people in democratic processes 4. Enhance and strengthen learners’ knowledge about different national perspectives on the climate crisis and the challenges related to it within the EU and motivate them to act 5. Strengthen citizenship education
▶Activities
We will develop four new learning materials based on innovative, participatory and engaging teaching methods and that are focusing on three topical EU-related themes: 1) Environment and fight against climate change, 2) War and peace in Europe and 3) Common EU values, all of which reflect current challenges to the Union. The learning materials will be tested and assessed with 12 participating upper secondary schools (24 teachers and 288 – 360 learners) from the four countries.
▶Impact
The results of the project will be four new learning materials (1 semi-digital escape room about climate change, 1 interactive role-play format about EU defense policy, 1 debate format about climate change and 1 debate format about common EU values) that have a positive impact on the pan-European needs and challenges addressed in the project. The learning materials will be easily implemented in class and freely available.
