The main objective of the project was to support the social inclusion of Ukrainian war refugee pupils through creative, learner-centered methods. We aimed to empower teachers and youth workers in Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania by providing them with effective, practical tools to foster inclusive classroom environments. Specifically, we sought to collect and test inclusive educational practices, enhance the professional skills of educators, and create sustainable teaching resources—such as a handbook and video materials—that can be used both locally and across Europe. Ultimately, the project aimed to reduce exclusion, promote empathy, and strengthen the integration of refugee students into their new school communities.

Throughout the project, we carried out a variety of activities focused on collaboration, capacity-building, and the development of educational resources. The partner schools and organizations from Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania began by researching and exchanging inclusive practices already used in their institutions. We then tested and refined these methods through three local trainings for teachers and youth workers, involving practical workshops and feedback from participants. An international training session in Estonia brought together educators from all partner countries to further develop and validate the methods. Based on this collective experience, we created a digital handbook featuring nine tested inclusive practices and a video series demonstrating these methods in action. To share our results, we organized multiplier events in all three partner countries, reaching educators, school leaders, and local stakeholders. We also maintained ongoing cooperation through regular online meetings and used digital tools for collaboration and dissemination.

In addition, the project strengthened the professional capacity of around 50 teachers and youth workers through local and international trainings. The multiplier events reached more than 250 education professionals, promoting broader awareness and adoption of the project’s tools. Beyond the tangible outputs, the project fostered stronger partnerships between schools and NGOs in the Baltic countries and improved the integration of Ukrainian refugee students by creating more empathetic and inclusive learning environments.
