Objectives

In order to face two major European issues, the influx of refugees & the aging population, this project aims to develop an online advisory communication platform, where trained local adults ages 65+ will facilitate the refugees’ social integration, by offering them advices on everyday issues. Objectives: O1: to enhance & facilitate refugees’ social integration O2: to encourage local Older Adults (65+) to volunteer to stay socially active O3: To raise public awareness on the Immigration issue

Activities

1. Kick off meeting in Athens Greece 2. Mapping the refugee & aging needs and available resources through thorough research and analyze data 3. Prepare detailed work packages (e guidebooks, platform design, e-library specifications) 4. Platform development & testing training workshops 5. Final Project Meeting in Italy

Impact

A website with: o a communication advisory platform, where refugees will be able to contact a local advisor aged 65+ to ask for guidance. o an e-library with useful, valid resources on the issue of immigration (Laws and Directives, articles, useful links) o 2 e-guidebooks with example user scenarios - for educators of adults aged 65+ to train them to become refugee advisors -1 for trainers of refugees to guide them through the platform, its contents and benefits
