Objectives

By implementing the project, we aimed to achieve the following objectives: - Raise awareness among students from an early age about the importance of protecting the environment and addressing climate change. - Equip teachers with new methodologies, techniques, and tools (especially STEAM and digital) applicable to environmental education. - Develop digital educational materials focused on sustainability, recycling, and responsible consumption. - Promote European cooperation through the exchange of good practices and collaborative work between schools from different countries. - Involve families and the local community in the educational process, encouraging sustainable habits in students' immediate environment. - Strengthen European identity and improve participants’ language, digital, and cultural competences.

Activities

Within the framework of the project, we implemented the following key activities: Transnational meeting in Portugal (led by the Eco-School): focused on environmental education, recycling, responsible consumption, and the integration of these practices into the school curriculum. Workshops, discussions, and visits to observe best practices were carried out. Meeting in Germany (led by the STEAM-focused NGO): aimed at enhancing teachers' STEAM skills in the context of sustainability. Practical workshops were held on smart cities, conscious consumption, and activities using LEGO and recyclable materials. Meeting in Spain (led by the coordinating school): focused on the creation of digital materials for environmental education using Web2.0 tools. Workshops were also held to design family engagement content and develop the draft of the teacher e-booklet. Virtual student activity: online sessions were organized for students from all participating countries to collaborate on sustainability-related tasks and share experiences. Impact

The concrete results of the project were as follows: -Teacher e-booklet in 5 languages in pdf published in the website of the project http://ecofriendly-childrens.eu/ - Digital educational materials created using Web2.0 tools, including presentations, videos, and interactive resources for both students and families. - Parent guidebook with guidelines on how to encourage sustainable behavior at home, also translated into 5 languages. - Environmental education curriculum developed and implemented in participating schools, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals and the European Green Deal. - Local environmental workshops carried out in each country with the involvement of students, teachers, and families. - Sustainable STEAM activities designed and applied in classrooms, including building models, using recycled materials, and creating smart city concepts. - Joint eTwinning project between partner schools, with collaborative activities and exchanges among students across Europe. - Project website and active social media accounts, used to share updates and outcomes widely.
