▶Objectives
We wanted to establish a School Parliament in each one of the Partners schools that gave our students the chance to take part in proposals and policies that were connected to their wellbeing, to boost interlevel co-existence and to let them work independently in different projects and initiatives. We also considered to show our students firsthand the importance of the Democratic Institutions in every partner’s country and the transformation that European values can bring to our society. In addition, we really thought that the bond between students from different cultural backgrounds throughout the project could benefit their present and future views about international relations and development cooperation, ensuring that their decision making strategies are based on democratic values. To enhance this global cooperation, the development of a digital competence can enable students to be connected to their peers from every part of the world, ensuring cooperation and growth of common values. Thus, thanks to the online meetings held periodically, students from our four partners countries could exchange their views about co-existence, inclusion, environment and democratic values by sharing their schools and background realities.
▶Activities
We developed the activities planned in the mobilities and the online meetings ,such as the establishment of the School Parliament in each one of the associates school, as well as making students aware of the importance of their actions and decisions concerning the environment. We also worked on other issues, like coexistence, events organization, dissemination of democratic principals in our communities and participation in contests and other organizations activities promoting the European values. The mobilities activities were mostly the ones planned in the project: In Spain teachers agreed on the School Parliament regulations. Spanish students also shared their views and expectations about the creation of a School Parliament in each one of the schools. In Turkey we joined their school Parliament and worked on an environmental workshop, having the chance to plant trees in their garden. In Cyprus students could work on debates about environment and coexistence, comparing their own schools and we attended an exhibition with the projects all students had developed the previous months. In Romania students worked in different workshops concerning recycling and reusing as as well as students discussions about their roles at school.
