▶Objectives
A project expanding green skills, digital competences of students and teachers as well as introducing innovation and research focused on environmental issues. The four teams will gather secondary students so they can learn about sustainability principles, zero waste, the 5 Rs and water quality measuring, jointly working on active implementation options to apply in daily life by creating digital outputs, setting examples, offering solutions for the good of the Earth, Nature and future generations
▶Activities
Consciousness is pivotal in a process that intends to accomplish both, to teach practical skills and create the necessary impact in time. Our four student-centred activities with a programme facilitated by teachers, in a further step, reach out to the students’ families and surrounding communities. Sustainability can only be achieved when the whole community takes part in the effort to use fewer resources, especially water, produce less waste, recycle more materials and reuse much more.
▶Impact
Long-lasting effects on bad habits are the result we aim at with this project. No sustainability will be achieved by individual actions but cooperative learning in a like-minded group with problems to solve that will, at best, impregnate the lives of many people with effective practices to contribute to save this planet from within one’s own community; a grassroots movement, as it were. Learning to collect, manage and disseminate digital data are an ever-growing skills set that will be enhanced.
