โถObjectives
The main objective of the project was to enable cooking schools to introduce sustainability into their classrooms by creating a sustainability plan adapted to each school. From there, we had the following objectives: - Recognize the importance of education to achieve sustainable development. - Promote sustainability as a key element for quality education. - Collaborate to adopt common guidelines for the inclusion of sustainability in schools. - Take a first step to change the current model and adopt one based on environmental sustainability. - Transmit this new sustainable culture to students and school staff through interactive activities.
โถActivities
SUSPRO has implemented three activities: - SUSPRO Sustainability Protocol: the consortium has created a sustainability protocol with a template, which allows each educational center to create its own protocol adapted to the culture and needs of its center. - SUSPRO international digital workshops: the international workshops have been online workshops that have allowed organizations from different countries to participate in the same training, learning about the project and its activities. This has led us to be able to offer to participate in SUSPRO regardless of the participant's place of origin. - SUSPRO physical workshops: the physical workshops have been activities carried out within the participating training centers, which allowed us to bring the theory of the protocol on sustainability integration in the center, to activities carried out with students.
โถImpact
The results generated by SUSPRO are: - A sustainability protocol, with an annex that allows any organization to create its own protocol, available in English, Spanish, Greek and Italian. - Execution of two digital workshops with participants from Spain, Greece and Italy, in which topics on SUSPRO development were discussed. - Execution of three face-to-face workshops, with the participation of students in each country, on sustainability in the food industry. - Materials for the realization of all the workshops carried out in SUSPRO, which serve as a template for other organizations that want to implement it. - 15 letters of support signed by different HoReCa organizations and other educational centers, proving the interest in the project within the sector. - Project dissemination material, including articles, press releases, and infographics, available in English, Spanish, Greek and Italian.
