The project intends to be part of the digital era by developing digital learning materials and tools including simulation and virtual reality (VR). During this period of the pandemic, we have had to adapt our pedagogy to be virtual, but in the field of foot health, it has been very complex due to the absence of teaching resources of this type. The use of simulation and, more specifically, its adaptation to VR,it is a step forward in foot health pedagogy.

We propose to explore the use of new technologies in the training of students in the field of podiatry, but the experience achieved in our project can be exported to other areas of knowledge, to train students in other fields of medical science that deal with the foot. Perhaps, at this moment in history, we are about to provoke a turning point where we can measure and monitor the usefulness of a large number of resources, considered ludic until now (e.g. virtual reality glasses, video games,etc)

This project could generate a new teaching base in the field of foot health, which all partners will be able to implement within their curricula and practices. Simulation systems and activity designs will be in an open system, so that any podiatry or foot- related organization can request their use free of charge, which will facilitate and increase their impact in the medium and long term.
