Objectives

The project will promote a new HE SYSTEM ON URBAN BIODIVERSITY to provide a NEW METHODOLOGY ON URBAN BIODIVERSITY TEACHING and THE SKILLS to adopt NEW LEARNING APPROACHES IN HE, INCREASING INGAGEMENT IN SCIENCE AND MODERNIZING HE CURRICULA. Doing so, it will CONTRIBUTE TO THE FIGHT AGAINST CLIMATE CHANGE, by supporting green capabilities of the HE sector and by developing new practices in instructional design to provide real ways to innovate HE learning process on Urban Biodiversity.

Activities

This project has 3 threads of activities to deliver - COMPETENCE MODEL and a TEACHING METHODOLOGICAL REPOSITORY for EU HE teachers. - U.BI.TEACH TRAINING TOOLKIT, comprised of TRAINING MATERIALS and a LEARNING E-SPACE to support HEIs in innovating their teaching methods on Urban Biodiversity. - U.BI.TEACH URBAN LAB.O., to observe and collect new projects ideas on Urban Biodiversity by HE students. PM, QA and dissemination activities will be foreseen to assure a smooth implementation.

Impact

Project activities will be aimed to design and deliver 1) the U.BI.TEACHing PACK (WP2) with a COMPETENCE MODEL ON URBAN BIODIVERSITY and a TEACHING METHODOLOGICAL REPOSITORY, both addressed to HE teachers, 2) the U.BI.TEACH TRAINING TOOLKIT (WP3) with LEARNING SNACKS and an E-SPACE, both tested by HE teachers and students and 3) the U.BI.TEACH Urban LAB.O. (WP4), LOCAL URBAN BIODIVERSITY OBSERVATORIES with green project ideas developed by HE students.
