Objectives

This project addresses one of the most pressing challenges of our society today, the transition towards models of decarbonisation of transport, ensuring territorial cohesion and the right of rural communities to a dignified life. All this by reflecting on the essential role of regional railways as a catalyst of territorial development dynamics. And considering local communities, their expectations, their demands and their capacity for entrepreneurship.

Activities

The execution of 4 types of activities is envisaged: - Project management activities, such as administrative control, quality control, deadlines, etc. - Transnational meetings between partners, to organise each work package. - Deliverables, tangible results freely available on the project website. - Learning activities with students from the partner universities. - Dissemination events of the project results, to ensure a high social impact.

Impact

The methodology of chain work (the results of the first WP are inputs for the following ones) allows obtaining tangible intermediate results, with their own value, and other final results that totally or partially agglutinate the previous ones. The interactive Atlas as an aid tool for decision-making in the planning of rural territories with a demographic deficit affected by railway lines with low traffic at risk of closure, and the Handbook of governance models stand out.
