Objectives

The overall objective of ESCAPE's escape-room based training approach can equip (current and future) healthcare workers with the knowledge, skills, and competencies needed to prevent cyberattacks and data breaches, and mitigate the impact on daily operations, patient care and (critical) healthcare systems. ESCAPE targets VET trainer healthcare workers, who are not always aware about cybersecurity and data privacy or do not consider it a priority.

Activities

ESCAPE provides an innovative, engaging and immersive escape room based learning approach. Based upon ESCAPE STORIES (WP2) reflecting the most common healthcare worker profiles and the cybersecurity & data protection related issues they face in their daily work, online ESCAPE ROOMS (WP3) are developed, through which they leanr how to prevent attacks/breaches and how reduce the damage they cause. The ONLINE TEACHER TRAINING (WP4) supports (C-)VETs in the integration into their curricula/courses.

Impact

ESCAPE equips healthcare workers with the relevant knowledge, skills, and competencies to prevent cyberattacks, protect patient data and respond to incidents and breaches effectively. ESCAPE also provides the teachers/trainers who provide healthcare education/training, with the knowledge, skills and competences to use escape room methods to teach and train their students on cybersecurity, data protection and how to prevent and manage attacks and reduce impact on care and daily operations.
