▶Objectives
The main objective, aligned with the environmental priority of combating climate change, was to recreate the connection between humans and nature through food from the soil to the plate, hence its title, "Soil to Plate." Understanding that partner countries share common values and environmental issues helped develop concrete motivation among students. Teacher training, combined with a schedule of classroom activities, aimed to strengthen students' key skills, foster European openness, share common values, and increase civic engagement. For students, four objectives were to be achieved: observe and understand the origins of food and its connection to the immediate environment; act in an eco-responsible manner; cooperate; and develop academic skills. For teachers, the project aimed to create team dynamics and cohesion by strengthening organizational, linguistic, and digital skills. At the partnership level, this enabled the development of skills in terms of communication, coordination and collaboration.
▶Activities
This project was designed around two main groups of activities: - Teacher mobility in partner schools with management objectives and the exchange of best practices (welcoming participants in the coordinating country, introducing participants and schools, cooperating to define the actions to be carried out (specifications, criteria and evaluation grid, schedule), verifying the roles and responsibilities of each, presenting and learning how to use the Twinspace, organizing communication between partners, organizing the dissemination of the project, presenting the overall financial plan and establishing a provisional schedule, organizing the competition for the future project logo, visiting classes, students, and teachers, meeting with the municipality, introducing partners to the local environment, preparing the next meeting, etc.) - School activities carried out in the classes during the four semesters of the project (1. Observing and understanding the origin of food and its connection to the immediate environment; 2. Acting in an eco-responsible manner: the soil; 3. Acting in an eco-responsible manner: the plate; 4. From the soil to the plate or how to become a European eco-citizen).
