▶Objectives
In implementing the project, we wanted to awaken students' curiosity, which is the beginning of the concrete construction of European citizenship, motivate them to study and increase their knowledge outside the classroom. This would enable students to be more open-minded towards the other inhabitants of Europe. We also wanted to include students with fewer opportunities, to prevent social exclusion and strengthen social cohesion. With distance projects, another aim is for students and teachers to communicate better in English, and to discover enriching interculturality and the key skills of European citizenship. To work remotely, the use of digital tools is essential, for both students and teachers, so digital and IT skills increase and are of higher quality. Long-term collaboration between teachers and students is also targeted, with in-house projects and students who can envisage studying and then working in Europe, having built up a network. Working methods are innovative, dynamic and inclusive, and teachers are committed.
▶Activities
4 activities were implemented as part of the project: Activity 1 is The beginning of a new story, then art in everyday life. This was the moment of European teamwork during our first Visio conference between coordinators. We fine-tuned the schedule, discussed the budget and working methods between the meetings in the partner countries, in line with the initial application, and discussed how to disseminate the results. Between meetings, the students, in groups, carried out the planned tasks and presented them at the meetings. And during the meetings, the partner countries offered workshops related to the activity. Meeting 1 took place in France from February 4 to 10, 2024. Activity 2 is Connecting art, nature and environmental heritage. Meeting 2 took place in Italy from April 10 to 21, 2024. Activity 3 is Getting to know each other through our history. Meeting 3 took place from November 17 to 23, 2024 in Greece. Activity 4 is End of project, evaluation, See you soon. This is a virtual activity between the coordinators, a joint assessment of the work carried out. Students took part in a final online game on art and memory (kahoot).
▶Impact
Activity 1: is divided into 2 parts. Getting to know the partners: need to work as a European team during the 1st Visio. The language of exchange was English. Working tools were put in place, and we agreed on our working methodology: tasks to be carried out in groups by the students between meetings during workshops, and workshops to be organized during meetings, and the use of digital tools. This naturally led to the creation of a European group of learners, with English as the medium, and an art wall was created in each country. Activity 2: made participants aware that works of art depicting nature are part of people's lives. It is therefore our duty to respect and protect the natural beauty of each country. The various art workshops helped to develop creativity, and the workshops, digital skills. Activity 3: Creation of lasting links between students, continuity of partnerships with future projects, handbook of best practices on the use of art in teaching. Activity 4: Assessment, analysis of figures and satisfaction questionnaires, dissemination.
