▶Objectives
1. The project aimed to promote teamwork, ensuring the inclusion of Pupils with special educational needs. One of the pillars of the project was inclusion and the development of psycho-social skills. The aim was to make each pupil a player, by enabling them to choose a role in line with their tastes, interpersonal skills and aptitudes, in order to help them take ownership of their role, progress and learn by developing a sense of self-efficacy. 2. The production of media content aimed to develop skills in oral communication and critical analysis of information (being able to assess the reliability of information, becoming a responsible and informed producer of information). 3. Finally, the programme aimed to enable participants to discover the culture of our European neighbours, not only through mobility, but also through exchanges and work in three different languages. The acquisition of intercultural skills, essential to the project, involves not only the development of language skills, but also the ability to understand and respect each other across cultural barriers, with an emphasis on what unites us within the EU.
▶Activities
This project was based on "inclusive media classes" set up in the three partner countries and working together. Using a project-based teaching approach, the pupils developed practical information literacy knowledge and skills through exchanges. In doing so, the teams helped them to develop an information and media culture. Pupils had the opportunity to visit the headquarters of local media (A punt, Radio Alçira, RAI3) and national media (Radio France, Médiapart); to take part in E.M.I. workshops led by professional journalists (Dalí, Radio Alçira, RAI3). workshops run by professional journalists (Dalia Ferreira & Thamara Bryson, Paco Martinez Gallego, Adrián Gisbert Herrero, Jannoun Mazen) and other media education professionals (Save the Children; TV workshop at the Valencia Museum of Arts and Sciences; María Escudero Muñoz and Pablo Cañete Blanco, gendarmes responsible for communication and the media) and to experience the role of information producer through the creation and publication of journalistic content (newspapers, radio podcasts, vox pop, reports and interviews, publications on social networks).
▶Impact
This project led the pupils, supervised by their educational teams and the various people involved, to produce a range of journalistic products. The productions are diverse: creating vox pop, interviews, reports, photo reports, surveys, chronicles, graphic productions, etc. They were then edited by the students for publication in the form of: radio podcasts (3 in France + 1 in Spain), newspapers (3 in France and 1 in Spain), publication as a report on a social network (Instagram, Italy). The results of the project are also the acquisition of skills and knowledge by the pupils and their teachers: - Development of info-documentary skills (knowing how to publish in a responsible and informed manner; critical thinking in the face of disinformation; knowing how to assess the quality and reliability of information) - Development of manipulative skills using digital tools (word processing, Canva, Madmagz, RSN, radio mixer, Audacity, etc.). - People skills: knowing how to cooperate, collaborate and organise as part of a team - Intercultural skills: respect, understanding, decentring, adapting.
