▶Objectives
The main objectives of the project were as follows: To identify and disseminate effective alternative teaching methods to prevent school dropout. To create concrete and accessible educational resources to support teachers and educators. To promote cooperation and the exchange of good practices at the European level by networking committed stakeholders. To actively involve young people in their learning journey through innovative and participatory activities. To offer young people opportunities to learn differently through creative, hands-on workshops. To build a European (or even international) community around the fight against early school leaving, using digital and collaborative tools. To encourage youth participation by giving them active roles in the project through spaces for expression (blog, workshops, etc.). To foster digital literacy through the creation of an interactive website. To apply innovative pedagogical approaches (Freinet, Steiner, Montessori, etc.) adapted to our audience through dedicated workshops.
▶Activities
To achieve these objectives, we implemented several complementary activities: - Creation of a bilingual educational booklet (in French and English) consisting of two parts: An overview of alternative pedagogical methods. A collection of concrete activity proposals for middle and high school students. - Development of a website including: An interactive map listing our new European partners. Free access to download the educational booklet. A member area and a collaborative blog to encourage exchange and cooperation. - Organization of innovative workshops for young people (10 in total), such as: Coding workshops. Mock trials. Educational board games in mathematics and French. Creation of a student newspaper/magazine. Workshops on fake news and media literacy. - Regular meetings with our transnational partner, Lycée Voyageur in Belgium, to co-develop content, exchange practices, and collaborate with other European partners. Beyond what was initially planned, we also introduced educational boxing workshops—at the request of the young participants—as well as singing and recording sessions using the Maison de Quartier’s in-house studio.
▶Impact
Concrete outcomes: - A bilingual educational booklet (French/English) published online and shared with numerous schools and associations across Europe. - A series of alternative educational workshops tested and validated with young people, generating strong engagement and renewed interest in learning and school involvement. - An interactive website featuring a map of initiatives, downloadable resources, a member area, and a blog. - A European network of committed stakeholders, promoting the exchange of practices and the creation of synergies. - Skills development for both educational teams and participating youth, particularly in creativity, self-expression, digital tools, and collaborative work. - The creation of Facebook and LinkedIn pages, not initially planned, to broaden the community and increase the visibility of project outcomes. - The development of a mobile application. - The creation of an original song during an exchange between the Lycée Voyageur and the Maison de Quartier.
