Accompagnement Libéré et Affranchi des Dominations ; une Insertion Nouvelle

For years, all of our partners have been working with various social actors who are struggling to change their practices despite their desire for a new approach. We have observed that although the managers of the organisations we have met are convinced of the need to develop a new approach to social intervention, they find it difficult to change their way of working. Institutional and psychosocial barriers limit the autonomy and empowerment of the people they support. In the face of ecological and social transitions, it is crucial to rethink the place of each individual in order to avoid exclusion. The challenge is to ensure that support services not only promote employability, but above all enable people to build their own place in society (places that often do not yet exist), without reproducing existing forms of domination. The aim was to equip professionals with the tools to identify existing power relations in support services and barriers to change, and to act on them in order to transform support services from a relationship of domination to one of cooperation, recognising the citizenship of those receiving support.

Many organisations working in the field of professional integration would like to provide support aimed at empowerment rather than just integration, but feel limited by internal and external mechanisms, attitudes and representations. Our objective was therefore to develop the skills of professionals so that they could provide support that was free from power relations and more focused on equal cooperation with the people they were supporting. The project made it possible to: -Develop the skills of adult training and education professionals -Facilitate the implementation of new methods of supporting people in integration programmes that respond to the challenges of societal transition -Move from a relationship of domination to a relationship of partnership with the people being supported → recognition of people's citizenship -Support the shift in the purpose of social support towards emancipation

The main activities implemented: capitalising on studies and methodologies on power relations and barriers to change. Capitalisation was consolidated through analysis by professionals and those receiving support. We then developed the ‘Alad'In’ tool to diagnose these power relations, barriers and levers for transforming support, provided training on this tool and tested it to verify its relevance and effectiveness. To ensure better adoption of the post-project tools, we organised dissemination events in the form of action-based training.

Concrete results: - Capitalisation of studies and methodologies on power relations and barriers to changing attitudes. Capitalisation was consolidated by analysis carried out by professionals and those receiving support. This has led to increased knowledge about power relations and barriers to changing attitudes in socio-professional support. - Development of the “Alad'In” tool to diagnose these power relations, barriers and levers for transforming support towards a liberated form of support free from power relations. - Delivery of training on the “Alad'In” tool. - Testing to verify the relevance and effectiveness of the “Alad'In” tool. - Creation of an “Alad'In” website. - Organisation of dissemination events in the form of action-based training.
