By implementing the project, namely by building a vegetable garden, an orchard and a sensory garden adapted to users, we wanted to improve the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities by enriching the social services provided by the Rijeka Rehabilitation Center.

Activities carried out: - Education and introduction to good practices at the partner CUDV Draga, Slovenia (followed by transfer of knowledge and skills to users) - Construction and arrangement of an orchard, vegetable garden and sensory garden and management of its development - Procurement of tools, materials, seeds, seedlings and fertilizers necessary for work - Active involvement of users in work activities - Creation of an e-manual on the topic of therapeutic gardening - Final project conference and presentation of results

The specific outcomes and other results of our project are: - Increased number of professional workers trained in providing innovative types of complementary-supportive forms of rehabilitation, i.e. work activities with therapeutic and restorative characteristics for the users of the Center (they are familiar with the basic principles of horticultural rehabilitation) - Conceptually designed and built a functional therapeutic vegetable garden, sensory garden and orchard, educated employees, in cooperation with the users, with the professional supervision and mentoring of the Slovenian partner, transformed the existing green areas into a functional vegetable garden, orchard and sensory garden - At least 15 users of the Center, people with intellectual disabilities and associated disabilities and people with autism spectrum disorders, were involved in the activities of creating a vegetable garden, orchard and sensory garden and planning and planting certain species and cultures, and maintaining it - A joint e-manual on gardening was created and published - A final conference was held at which the results were presented
